About Us

The Work Vault

Bringing Students & Business Together.

Humble Beginnings:

We are a brand new website that has been developed to help students gain real world experience while they are still studying at university. Our hope is that not only will a student be able to earn money without impacting their study, they will also work with companies in their relevant field and be able to build lasting relationships moving forward, enabling them to fill their CV with relevant experience.

Half of the graduates in the UK are working in non-graduate roles. If we take away the fluff and boring bits, this means that 49% of graduates have wasted their time! Accrued debt they don’t want, for a job that doesn’t require higher education.

This issue has been labelled “the graduate employment gap” and it all boils down to employers wanting more than just graduates to fill a role. In reality they are looking for real world experience.

That’s where The Work Vault comes in. We are an online platform built to connect students wanting work and businesses looking to outsource.

The Gist:

We’re piggybacking on the success of the “gig economy” and similar sites like People Per Hour and UpWork, where businesses create a brief and freelancers (students) submit quotes.

However The Work Vault is very different because we operate solely with students, each is verified which offers businesses access to some of the most talented individuals in the UK.

We’re planning to close the gap and enable students to gain the experience they need to either enter the workforce successfully, or give them the skills and client base to go it alone and make the living they deserve.

Our Aims:

While our aim is to help students and that will always be at the heart of what we do, we also understand that we are in a unique position to help more businesses find the talent and skill set they need at a reduced market cost.

We will always keep our costs as low as possible so that we don’t price out the students and where we can we will avoid making a charge at all. While we do need to make money in order to keep the site running and to keep it up to date, we will never get greedy like many of our competitors.

Ultimately the goal is to help students be more employable after they graduate by opening up doors whilst they study. We want them to gain invaluable insights into how to run and be part of a business.
